A few Updates

I mentioned the Boolean Machine today. Here's the link, check it out: http://kathyschrock.net/rbs3K/boolean/

Julie mentioned a "Rank these Sites" activity we do with our sophomore orientation classes. Here's the link to one of our sophomore orientation lessons, that includes some evaluation of sites, domain names, info literacy, and the ranking exercise: http://schoolcenter.nsd.org/GreekInfoLit

I also put these on the Resources page.

Thanks for posting these. Is there a way to actually use the boolean machine online? I guess I don't understand why he doesn't just call it a Venn Diagram.

He uses the venn diagram to illustrate how boolean operators work. There are lots of other lessons/activities online, but one I've heard people have had success with is when they have kids stand up if they're wearing jeans and don't have (NOT) brown hair. Then They stand if they have jeans AND brown hair, and then they stand if they have Jeans OR Brown hair. Something like that.
